If you notice a gradual loss of firmness in your breasts and/or they have started to sag, a breast lift (mastopexy) might be a great option to improve the appearance of your breasts. Most women noticed these changes after pregnancy and breast-feeding as well as with increasing age.
The breast lift procedure is done under general anesthesia. It involves removing excess skin, lifting the breast tissue and re-positioning the remaining skin around the breast tissue to give a tighter, youthful and uplifted appearance to the breast.
For some women, in addition to noticing that their breasts have begun to sag, they also experience a loss in breast volume. A great option is to combine a breast lift with a breast augmentation procedure. In these cases, an implant is placed underneath the muscle, while the breast tissue is lifted and excess skin is removed all in the same procedure to get a naturally enhanced appearance of the breasts.
Natural Looking Breast Implant Surgery
Breast augmentation with either silicone gel or saline implants, or through the latest technique of fat transfer augmentation, can help breasts look fuller, restore volume lost after pregnancy, weight loss or surgery and can improve symmetry resulting with beautiful, natural-looking breasts.
Saline implants can be placed in the axilla (underarms) through an incision less than an inch long. Other incision choices for saline implants include the underwire or the areola area. Cohesive Silicone ("Gummy Bear") implants can be placed through an incision in the underwire area or around the areola.
You should be able to return to work within a few days, depending on the level of activity required for your job. You will receive instructions from Dr Del Vecchio on when to begin exercises and normal activities, which are highly recommended to adhere to. Your breasts will probably be sensitive to direct stimulation for two to three weeks and you should avoid much physical contact. After that, breast contact is fine once your breasts are no longer sore, usually three to four weeks after surgery. Your scars will be firm and pink for at least six weeks. Then they may remain the same size for several months, or even appear to widen. After several months, your scars will begin to fade, although they will never disappear completely.
